Jonathan Wank

Chief Executive Officer Co-Founder

Jon leads the Noria Energy team with a proven track record as an Entrepreneur, creating new ventures, raising funds, and scaling companies. Before Noria Energy, Jon was a founding member of The Solutions Project, a 501c3 organization to accelerate the transition of the United States to 100% renewable energy.

Alex Mayer

Chief Technology and Growth Officer Co-Founder

Alex has +20 years of solar industry experience with an emphasis on module and inverter technology development, manufacturing, system design, and product qualification. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University and did his postdoctoral research at Stanford University.  ​​​

Kaitlyn Qin

Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Kaitlyn oversees Noria’s Project Finance, Corporate Finance and Ops. She has a track record of successfully building organizations with a portfolio of work including corporate growth strategies, financial valuations, and operational tactics for optimizing the financial health of companies. Prior to Noria, Kaitlyn was COO at a VC Start-up and has over 11 years of experience with PwC. In her advisory career, Kaitlyn has successfully led and stood up four new finance organizations from M&A integrations and divestitures. She is a CPA, CA, and has an MBA from the Wharton School.

The Team

Bella Alvarado

Operations Associate

Bella is an Operations Associate at Noria Energy. She contributes to project development and assists with the Company’s day-to-day processes. Bella graduated in June 2022 from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a minor in Environmental Systems and Society. Last summer she was an intern at the California Ocean Protection Council where she primarily researched floating offshore wind farms.

Victoria Arciniega

Systems Engineer

Ms. Arciniega was introduced to Clean Energy through the Shanghai Nuclear Research and Design Institute where she modeled and analyzed pipes with computational fluid dynamics. For the past year, Ms. Arciniega has been an assistant in research at the University of Michigan’s Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory. She is also majoring in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and minoring in Engineering Across Cultures at the University of Michigan.  

Matt Bugajski

Proposal and Program Manager

Matt leads Noria Energy’s proposal management process and supports Noria’s origination, finance, and pre-development teams with project management. Before joining Noria, Matt worked in the technology industry focusing on corporate renewable energy strategy and procurement, and previously as an energy efficiency program manager and consultant in Washington, DC. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and International Studies from American University.

Alex Cagle

Systems Architect

Alex joins Noria Energy as a systems architect on the R&D team. Alex recently completed his PhD research at UC Davis where he evaluated the environmental and techno-economic attributes of floating solar PV installations across the globe. Prior to Noria, Alex worked as a geospatial renewable energy planning consultant for various California agencies and NGOs. Alex also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Temple University.

Jairo Criollo

Director of Business Development Co-Founder

Jairo is a strategic, results-driven professional with over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and new business development in technology industries.​ His 20 years of building, managing cross-cultural teams, and selling at C-level can be seen across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Jairo completed his bachelor’s in Finance at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.

Devin Hawkins

Director of Technical Sales

Devin leads the Technical Sales effort for Noria Energy, bridging the gap between Noria’s extensive solar expertise and our customers. Devin is a mechanical engineer with 10 years of experience in the solar industry focusing primarily on system design, product development, and sales. He has a Bachelor of Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Jason King

Senior Controls and Testing Engineer

Jason joins Noria Energy with 15+ years of controls and test engineering experience and has worked in the solar, smart grid, wireless networking, and solid-state lighting industries. With a focus on control systems, test automation, product reliability, and custom lab tool development, Jason has helped bring several new technologies to market. Jason holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Technical Communication from North Carolina State University.

Kevin Olberding

Project Engineer

While having a background in construction and certified in AutoCAD, Kevin brings over 15 years of solar design experience working on projects from commercial buildings, parking structures, and agriculture solar fields, to schools, hospitals, and prison systems.  Kevin also has experience with power and lighting design, title 24, and is well versed in ADA compliance.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, East Bay and is passionate about contributing to sustainability and clean energy projects. 

James Raiford

Head of Technology Development

James leads the engineering efforts for Noria’s project development and R&D teams. James has 6+ years of experience in the solar and renewable energy industries. James holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.

Brian Stevenson

Director of Project Development

Brian comes to Noria as the Director of Project Development with over 15 years of solar experience.  Brian has a bachelor’s degree in construction management and a master’s degree in business.  He started his career in Commercial and Multi-Family Construction and worked for a developer of large master-planned development projects for several years.  His solar experience spans the full spectrum of commercial solar, from small rooftops to large solar canopies to utility-scale projects nationwide.

Becca Suchower

Systems Engineer Intern

Becca holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering, where she pursued projects and coursework related to sustainable engineering and design practices. Previously, Becca worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Altus Thermal, where she designed and evaluated prototypes to improve the energy efficiency of a residential hardware product. As a Systems Engineer Intern, she assists with ongoing R&D projects at Noria.

Tate Tussing

Strategic Operations

Tate oversees Noria Energy’s RFP processes, including writing, designing, and constructing savings analyses as well as strategic operations. Prior to Noria, Tate worked in construction and oil & natural gas where he focused on improving business operations and logistics. Tate holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Pitzer College.

Salina Yeung

Controller

Salina is a finance professional with extensive experience in financial management, planning and reporting, investments oversight, risk management, and operation oversight.  She gained diverse perspectives from working in public accounting and private industry firms including investment firms, startups, and family offices.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner.

Ye Zheng

Project Engineer Intern

Ye joins as a Project Engineer intern and is currently contributing to the research and development of battery sizing and dispatch schedule optimization models. She also facilitates project development for solar and battery performance modeling. Ye holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University, and she is completing her MS degree in Sustainable Design and Construction – Energy at Stanford University in June 2023.
